My friend S came over last weekend and handed me this book, and while she placed it on my hands she said “Now you're a fan” It was all in humor until I started reading the damn thing and boy was she right! These are great titles, and they tell you almost nothing about the content of the book. After being disappointed with Me Talk Pretty One Day, I was pretty hesitant to pick up When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris. The “war” is the joint view — extremely common in America — that a) tax revenues are on an acceptable track, and b) we should spend more and more on health care each year at high rates, including in per capita terms.
